Thomas Lawson
Founded in 1966, the accountancy practice is a full member of the only statutory recognised body of accountants, the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Chartered
 The practice was founded by Thomas Lawson who was a member of the institute for 40 years. His son Mark graduated from University in 1986 and then became a provisional member and then a full member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Marks holds a Certificate Of Public Practice.

The business trades as a sole trader, with Mark the sole owner. The practice trades under the brand name of "Thomas Lawson".

In the past staff members have also belonged to the institute and we encourage staff to take tertiary examinations and work towards becoming "accounting technicians".

Many of the staff have been working for many decades in this profession. Howard has over 30 years experience, David over 20, Lynne and Denise over 15 years.

In the near future it is planned to employ a chartered accountant and the business will be seeking permission from the institute to trade as a Company.

Tasks we undertake
Advice, business accounts, taxation planning.
We will help a person buy a business/farm or establish one.   We will help them their annual tax returns, GST. 
We give two monthly reports, annuals reports and budgets.
For many of the clients we monitor their position and give them regular reports.
And then  finally we will help them sell the business or transfer ownership.
